Sunday Brian and Pete Loggerhead divers Boynton Beach FL Sunny and hot Water temp 82 Seas 2 feet Viz 50 feet or so Strong North current First time on the GSR w/ Pete. First dive was on black condo. I’m glad because that was the dive I wanted to do anyway. No big fish, but a lot of bugs, because season wasn’t open yet…. Figures…. Took lots of photos. First time I got to use my new flash. Works great at around 5 feet from the subject. Really brings out the color of the corals. Funny that this trip had more old people on it than I had ever seen…. One lady was an older grand ma. She was diving w/ her daughter and grand daughter. They all did great, and the dives went smooth. Much better than I had expected given the age of the crew…. The dive was awesome as usual. Didn’t stay down too long. Pete gassed and I came up w/ 1000 psi Second dive was on Utight-ees (sp). Just to the N or S of black condo… I forget which. Kinda looked like black condo, then tapered off a bit and the relief was not as high. Nice dive none the less. I was in la la land and not paying attention. I drifted to close to the reef, looked over and a 4 foot snowflake moray eel was right in my face…. Not to cool…..but did get a photo…. Short dive again, Pete gassed and I came up w/ 1000 psi. While we were up on the deck the captain slipped and fell on the floor….. It looked like his knee was broke and in a very ugly twisted shape. It was just the way he landed. He straightened his leg out and everything was ok. It looked pretty nasty at first, but all was well. BC |
